It is always a great pleasure for us to collaborate with the architect Kamil Mrva, so to participate in a project which aims to revive a whole micro-region, to attract visitors as well as improving life for local people - that was a dream come true.

Kamil Mrva, native of the region, has developed a long-term collaboration with Trojanovice, a village in the Beskydy mountains. Together with its mayor, Jiří Novotný, they are endeavouring to revive the Horečky area.

Project details

To this end the municipality bought an old pub in part of the village called Rekovice and commissioned Kamil Mrva Studio to redevelop it into today’s hotel which has an excellent restaurant run by the village. While being respectful to its history and tradition, the exquisite reconstruction turned the building into a leading example of modern architecture, in perfect harmony with the natural surroundings. It is no surprise that it has won a number of architecture prizes. Being the birthplace of the man who was instrumental in the founding of Trojanovice as an independent municipality, it is also a place of historical interest.
We were very happy to supply furniture for the terrace of the restaurant. Having enjoyed using our Cora furniture at home, Kamil Mrva and interior designer Romana Mališ Bílková chose tables and chairs from the same series for the garden at Rekovice. We customised our Cora tables, which were originally square, so that two couples could be seated opposite each other rather than occupying all four sides of the table, so increasing the seating capacity of the terrace. Our chairs and tables suit this superb village restaurant perfectly: understated, practical, easy to maintain yet bold and modern.
